The City of Anaheim/Redevelopment Agency offers financial assistance to families wanting to purchase condominiums or single family homes in Anaheim.

Two funding sources are available through the City. The first is our Second Mortgage Assistance Program (SMAP), funded with Redevelopment 20% housing set aside funds; and, the second program is the HOME Program, which is funded by the federal government. Each program has its own guidelines as described in the chart below.

    • Assets cannot exceed $62,744
  • Income Limit: Up to 80% of median
  • Interest Rate: 3% Simple Interest
  • Term of Loan: 30 years deferred (due upon sale or transfer of property)
  • Payments: No monthly payments
  • Maximum Purchase Price $239,250
  • Must always remain owner-occupied
  • Assistance offered to households who do not currently own a home
  • Requirements: Must be legal residents
  • Compatible with SCHFA financing
  • Assets cannot exceed $24,178
